What We Do

The NSF Critical Mineral Accelerator Engine in Alaska aims to bring resources to the state and university to make Alaska a leader in supporting an emerging U.S. critical minerals mining industry.

We have partnered with mining and resource experts across the state, leading Arctic researchers, and R&D experts to build a framework of:

  • Identify and grow opportunities for new critical mineral extraction technologies across the state and for the nation
  • Implement use-inspired R&D and T2P for critical mineral exploration, recovery, and processing
  • Support workforce development across the critical mineral supply chain in Alaska
